Out of the Woods

TorZo Surfaces’ new interior architectural wood panel, Striata, emphasizes unique beauty and durability, while maintaining a clear focus on responsible sustainability. The evolution of each Striata panel begins with 100 percent Northwest Douglas fir structural beams. Legendary for its strength and stability, Douglas fir is a remarkably stable and hardwearing species with rich textural variations.

Manufactured in Woodburn, Oregon from regionally harvested trees, the wood panels are available in two design options: Striata and Striata Fusion. The layered construction of Striata and Striata Fusion creates an attractive linear aesthetic and also contributes to superior strength.

Striata panels use only premium 100 percent Pacific Northwest Douglas fir, certified by the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI). Striata is easily fabricated, and offered in a natural wood tone that can be custom stained and finished in a variety of color/glass combinations.

Striata Fusion uses the Striata 100 percent Douglas fir panel as a substrate, and the exclusive TorZo Surfaces acrylic infusion process transforms the wood panel into an interior surfacing material suitable for high traffic and demanding installations. The striking organic pattern of Striata Fusion comes to life through TorZo Surfaces’ palette of eight distinctive colors comprised of four neutral tones including: Cocoa, Copper, Onyx and Natural; as well as premium vibrant tones: Amethyst, Ruby, Sapphire and Turquoise.

Striata and Striata Fusion are available in two styles. Striata 360 offers complete coverage of beauty for applications where all panel faces and edges may be exposed, panel sizes are 48-inches by 96-inches and ¾-inches thick. Striata Surface is single-faced Striata pressed on a Meranti plywood backer on a 47-inch by 95-inch panel in both ¾-inch and ¼-inch thickness. Certified by the SFI, both styles contain no added urea formaldehyde, certified low VOC and can contribute towards LEED credits.

Striata and Striata Fusion’s modern yet rustic sensibilities offer limitless architectural and artisan uses; ceiling and wall applications, cabinetry, furniture, countertops, casework and other commercial, hospitality, retail and residential applications. All panels are made from layered Douglas fir veneers and may show slight color and grain pattern variation. These subtle dissimilarities add character and offer limitless creative potential for any installation, unveiling a finished look that is truly unlike any other.
