(PRESS RELEASE) Murray Kasmenn, Vice President/Group Brand Director, Publisher for SmartWork Media, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE). Kasmenn is one of 11 new directors elected to the board during PAVE’s annual meeting, which took place May 21.
“It is my honor and privilege to be a member of the PAVE Board of Directors,” said Kasmenn. “We at VMSD and IRDC have always supported PAVE and with my new Board position, we will be able to support PAVE’s efforts even more. PAVE has made great strides over the years to help students achieve their professional dreams. I’m looking forward to helping develop more opportunities for students whose passion is design.”
Through his role as VP/Group Brand Director, Publisher for SmartWork Media Inc., Kasmenn is responsible for strategy, execution and overall revenue and profitability for five business media brands which includes printed and digital products as well as events: VMSD magazine, Signs of the Times, Big Picture, Screen Printing and BXP, as well as VMSD’s International Retail Design Conference (IRDC). In addition to PAVE, Kasmenn is involved through support or involvement with RDI, ISA, Printing United Alliance (formerly SGIA), Shop! and AIPIA.
The eleven new board members including Lena Lim of B+N Industries, Inc.; Alison Embrey Medina of RetailX; David Terveen of DK Display; Glenn Sokoli of Bernstein Display; Jalal Hamad of The Home Depot; Karen Pearse of Karen Pearse Global Direct; Laura Harsch of One Medical, Murray Kasmenn of SmartWork Media; Robin Wagher of National Retail Federation; Roya Sullivan of Harlequin Design; Robert Perilstein of Visplay and Tom Fenton of Schimenti Construction will assist PAVE in continuing to fulfill its mission of connecting students, educators and professionals who support the retail industry in a vibrant, meaningful, and mentoring format.
