Restoration Hardware Plans Hospitality Venture

According to Crain’s New York Business, Restoration Hardware (Corte Madera, Calif.) plans to launch a boutique hotel and restaurant as a creative way to allow customers first-hand experience with its wares, as well as test the waters of the hospitality industry.

The retailer has leased a 25,000-square-foot space for the hotel in New York’s Meatpacking District. The space will feature 14 rooms, outfitted in Restoration Hardware furniture and fixtures, as well as a ground-floor restaurant.

The building, located at 55 Gansevoort St., is near where the company has leased space for a flagship retail store that is currently being developed.
