Rue21 Opens New Flagship

Teen specialty apparel retailer rue21 inc. (Cranberry Township, Pa.) has announced the opening of a new flagship store less than one mile from its corporate office.

The 8000-square-foot store includes apparel and accessories for both girls and boys, as well as rue21's newest and fastest-growing division, rue+ plus sizes. In addition, the store will offer footwear, fragrance, beauty and room décor.

The flagship also includes rue21's first-ever interactive hangout — the rueLounge — equipped with free WiFi, a cellphone charging station, iPads to browse and shop rue21.com, as well as a flat screen TV streaming videos and branded content. A “selfie” area has been designated outside fitting rooms where shoppers can try on merchandise and share photos on social media.

“Our mission is to react to the needs of our customers,” Bob Fisch, president and ceo of rue21, said in a statement. “We will continue to build and grow new categories based on their demands. The teen market is ever-changing and we will adapt and change with it.”
