Sears Canada Taps Merchandising Exec

Sears Holdings Corp. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) announced last week the promotion of veteran chief merchandising officer Ronald D. Boire to chief of the company’s struggling Sears Canada business. Boire will, according to The Wall Street Journal, attempt to reposition the brand after years of losses. Boire replaces Douglas Campbell, who resigned after serving for one year as the division’s ceo. As Sears’ chief merchandising officer, Boire oversaw merchandising and retail stores for both the Sears and Kmart brands. Boire has also served as ceo of Brookstone Inc. and held top merchandising positions at Toys “R” Us Inc. and Best Buy Co.
