Sears Names New Marketing Head

Sears, Roebuck & Co. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) has named Janine Bousquette to the new position of executive vp and chief customer and marketing officer, effective Nov. 1, 2002.

She replaces David Selby, senior vp of marketing, who will be leaving the company on Oct. 15, 2002.

Sears says Bousquette will be responsible for the strategic integration of Sears'marketing, customer care and customer-relationship management efforts.

Bousquette has held senior marketing and brand-development positions with Pepsico Inc. (Purchase, N.Y.) and Procter & Gamble (Cincinnati). Sears says she was responsible for reinvigorating flagship brand Pepsi-Cola and helped transform Mountain Dew into a dominant brand. She also served as chief marketing officer and executive vp of eToys Inc.
