Second J.Crew Mercantile Store Planned

J.Crew (New York) will be opening its second J.Crew Mercantile store later this year in Gainesville, Va., outside Washington, D.C., in the Virginia Gateway Promenade shopping center. The 6300-square-foot store will open in November before Black Friday.

According to Washington Business Journal, the new stores are intentionally located in suburban outdoor lifestyle shopping centers, whereas traditional J.Crew stores are located in more dense, urban areas.

J.Crew Mercantile stores carry the same merchandise as J.Crew Factory stores, which are usually located in outlet malls. The first J.Crew Mercantile store opened earlier this summer in Dallas.
