REI Promotes Rachel Ligtenberg

REI (Seattle) has promoted Rachel Ligtenberg to vp of retail, according to a press release. She will continue in her previous role of leading store design, visual merchandising and the co-op’s flagship strategy and will add retail operations to them. She will continue to report to Tim Spangler, senior vp of retail.

Ligtenberg has been with the company for 25 years, when she joined the co-op after college as a sales associate in its Sacramento store. She moved up the chain by becoming the general manager of the Seattle flagship and then moved into the corporate position of director of visual merchandising and then regional vp of retail.
