Sharper Image Corp., the San Francisco-based specialty retailer, reported record results for its third quarter ending Oct. 31,2000. Those results included a 66 percent increase in comp-store sales, a 68 percent increase in total store sales (to $58.2 million), a 158 percent increase in Internet sales (to $13.7 million) and record third quarter revenues of $98 million.

For the fiscal nine months ended October 31, total revenues increased 51 percent, to $237 million; total store sales increased 44 percent, to $149.7 million; catalog sales increased 33 percent, to $53.2 million; and Internet sales increased 175 percent, to $32.7 million.

“We continue to benefit from the strength of having four fully integrated sales channels: retail stores, catalog, Internet and our business-to-business sales,” said founder, chairman and ceo Richard Thalheimer. “It's important to note we've enjoyed more than two years of good comparable store sales increases for our core business of proprietary Sharper Image Design products, private label merchandise and other core business products. I am also thrilled about our recent announcement of our 97th store to open in December at Rockefeller Center in New York.”
