Shinola, Jack White Buy Retail Space

Shinola (Detroit), manufacturer and purveyor of premium leather goods, apparel, bicycles and watches, announced it has partnered with Jack White, of band The White Stripes, to purchase a building at 441 W. Canfield St. in Detroit’s Cass Corridor.

The building allows Shinola to expand its retail space as well as the items it manufacturers, which will include speakers, turntables and headphones.

White will open a second location for his record label Third Man Records (Nashville, Tenn.) in the building, which will house office space for the record label as well as a flagship retail record store.

The new stores will open on Nov. 27, 2015, according to MLive.com.
