Shop Noir

Designer Leeora Catalan, who counts Madonna, Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez among her celebrity clientele, has opened her own store, Shop Noir, in New York's Nolita district.

The 600-square-foot boutique owner was working as a stylist for a fashion show when the producers couldn't find long beaded tassels. She made some herself, which caught the eye of Bloomingdale's fashion director. Within 24 hours, she had formed a company called Noir and begun producing a new line. The Noir flagship store marks her first venture in a freestanding boutique, which she runs with her husband.
