Showfields (New York), which describes itself as a lifestyle discovery store, has opened an outlet in Washington, D.C. Its latest locale is in a former menswear store at 3077 M Street NW in Georgetown.
That space’s previous tenant was Brooks Brothers, and Showfields said its in-house design team re-envisioned it to create a colorful and engaging space while keeping the essence of the original design.
“This store is a great example of how we approach the future of retail – we can take a heritage retail space, rework it and create an entirely new environment that’s wholly unique but at its core nostalgic for a classic shopping experience,” Showfields CEO and Co-Founder Tal Zvi Nathanel said in a news release. “We reused a lot of the existing infrastructure of the previous store, as it was important to us to re-utilize and rework as much as possible while introducing DC to our signature aesthetic.”
The store flow follows the brand’s House of Showfields concept, which the retailer first unveiled in its recently opened locale in Brooklyn, New York. The three-story space is organized into departments, each representing a room of a house.
The brand’s other stores are on Bond Street, New York; Lincoln Road, Miami Beach; and Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles.
