Sony Has Designs On Target

Sony Electronics (Park Ridge, N.J.) will be making a line of consumer electronic products exclusively for Target Corp. (Minneapolis), the two companies have announced. This is the first time Sony has designed a line exclusively for a single retailer.

The products, to debut in Target stores this spring, include CD players, alarm clocks, radios ans a universal remote. They're all under $150 and they all will incorporate the colors and modern designs associated with Target products. So a radio resembles a purse and a CD player is designed specifically to be mounted under a kitchen counter. The color line is white highlighted with lime and silver.

Target already has exclusive partnerships with Eddie Bauer, Tupperware, Calphalon and Waverly.
