Starbucks Acquires Brazilian Entity

Starbucks Corp. (Seattle) has assumed 100 percent ownership and operating control of Starbucks Brazil through the acquisition of Cafés Sereia do Brasil Participações S.A.

“Cafes Sereia and its partners have been committed to creating the Starbucks experience for our customers in Brazil,” says Pablo Arizmendi, vp, general manager, Starbucks Coffee Latin America. “

The company's current leadership team will continue to manage the day-to-day operations.

Starbucks says the acquisition is part of its commitment to international business as a key future growth engine for the company.
