Stein Mart Continues Expansion

Stein Mart (Jacksonville, Fla.) announced its plans to open 21 new stores by the end of 2016.

The retailer intends to open nine new stores this fall, including its first flagship in suburban Detroit. It will also be launching its first Long Island, N.Y., location on open Sept. 24 in the Mayfair Shopping Center. Other locations include Newport News, Va.; Coral Springs, Fla.; and Los Angeles, reports a press release.

Since 2014, the company has been opening new stores at an accelerated pace as a part of its sales growth strategy. In 2015, it will have opened ten stores. In spring 2016, it plans to open stores in cities including Denver and Philadelphia. Locations are not yet available for the stores planned to open later in 2016.
