Steve Madden Buys Dolce Vita

Steve Madden Ltd. (Long Island City, New York) has purchased Dolce Vita Holdings (Seattle) for $60.3 million. The acquisition follows Steve Madden’s March purchase of the Brian Atwood intellectual property assets and the June licensing partnership, entered into with Authentic Brands Group (New York), for Juicy Couture.

Dolce Vita’s founding partners Van Lamprou and Nick Lucio will continue to oversee the business as employees of Steve Madden. Dolce Vita, whose 2013 net sales were about $111 million, according to Women’s Wear Daily, specializes in the design and sale of branded and private-label footwear. Its brands include Dolce Vita, DV by Dolce Vita, DV8 and J.D. Fisk.
