An outdoor enthusiast's dream store, the new Sun & Ski Sports in Katy Mills Mall (Katy, Texas) specializes in skiing, skating, biking, climbing and camping equipment. Designers at Gotsdiner Architects, Houston, focused on bringing the outdoors indoor, using rustic-looking surfaces and fixtures, and backlit graphics that depict outdoor scenes.

Beyond sporting goods, the store's attractions include a 24-foot-tall climbing wall for shoppers to test their physical ability and a “ski lodge” featuring a sophisticated “ski-deck” machine for trying out ski equipment.
