The Best of POPAI

Toys “R” Us (Paramus, N.J.) and Procter & Gamble (Cincinnati) were among the winners of the 2002 Display of the Year (DOY) awards presented by the Point-of-Purchase Advertising Institute (POPAI).

The annual awards honor “strategic utilization of in-store ads,” and include advertising design, creativity and the ability to increase sales.

Toys “R” Us won in the semi-permanent display category for a Disney/Pixar Monsters display by Idea Planet. P&G was honored for in the temporary display category for Cover Girl “Sheer Ice”/ “In the Mod” Target by Alliance (a Rock-Tenn Co.).

Other winners included Bose Corp., for a permanent Bose Lifestyle 800 Automated Club display by The Elliott Group; and Unilever Mexico in the multinational display category for a Dove washing stand by Armo POP.

The winners come from among all the entries that earn POPAI's Gold OMA (Outstanding Merchandising Achievement) Award.
