Japanese retailer Uniqlo has landed on the West Coast with a store near the Powell Street cable car turnaround in San Francisco. The store features an illuminated rainbow staircase, glass-sheathed roof-to-basement skylight, 91 rotating mannequins, 77 LCD screens and a “Magic Mirror” virtual dressing room.

“We chose San Francisco because it's a hotbed of global technological innovation,” Yasunobu Kyogoku, Uniqlo U.S. chief operating officer, told the San Francisco Chronicle.
