Vera Wang is planning a new store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, Calif., next year; and Zara will be opening in Lincoln Road Mall in Miami Beach.

Women’s Wear Daily reported that Vera Wang will move into a two-level, 5500-square-foot boutique at 428 N. Rodeo Dr. in January 2014, after her current lease on Melrose Avenue expires.

The New York-based designer will move into what Hermès has been using as a temporary space until its new freestanding store a few doors down opens in early September.

Sawyer Berson (New York) will design the store. Brian Sawyer renovated Wang’s New York apartment two years ago.

And Zara SA (Arteixo, Spain) will open a two-level, 24,000-square-foot flagship in the South Beach pedestrian-only promenade, in a registered landmark building that was originally the art deco Lincoln Road Hotel. Women’s Wear reports the store, at 420 Lincoln Rd., will integrate the property’s Art Deco design elements and two-story rounded glass facade.

The retailer is targeting a winter opening, presumably before Christmas.
