VM+SD’s 13th annual International Visual Competition

Judges in the 13th annual VM+SD International Visual Competition enjoyed the new twist on a sales campaign that Storeage (Amsterdam) created for Levi’s Cut It! Sales Campaign that ran in Levi’s stores across Europe. The entry won Best of Show and First Place in the In-Store Storewide Promotions category.

“It’s innovative and creative,” lauded one judge. “Quirky but cool,” said another about the campaign which included store windows, in-store promotional materials, punk hairstyle graphics and a free haircutting event.

Other winners in the Visual Competition included:

• First Place – In-store Apparel Presentation: Omm, Hong Kong , designed and submitted by Pearl Lake Ltd. (Hong Kong)

•Award of Merit – In-store Apparel Presentation: Chicago Designer Shop, designed and submitted by Marshall Field’s (Minneapolis)

•First Place – In-Store Accessories/Beauty/Shoes Presentation: Smart Wool Footwear Launch, designed and submitted by Timberland (Stratham, N.H.)

•Award of Merit – In-Store Accessories/Beauty/Shoes Presentation: Sara Jessica Parker LOVELY Fragrance Launch, designed and submitted by Marshall Field’s (Minneapolis)

• First Place – In-Store Home Goods Presentation: Design Quarter, designed and submitted by Woolworths Pty. Ltd. (Cape Town, South Africa)

• Award of Merit – In-Store Home Goods Presentation: Jonathan Adler Furniture Launch, designed and submitted by Marshall Field’s (Minneapolis)

• Award of Merit – In-Store Storewide Promotions: Spring Flower Show, Déjà Vu, designed and submitted by David Jones (Sydney)

•Award of Merit – In-Store Storewide Promotions: Think Fall, A Season of Intrigue, designed and submitted by Marshall Field’s (Minneapolis)

• First Place – In-Store Seasonal Promotions: Mall/Exterior/Seasonal Display: The Shops at Columbus Circle, New York, designed and submitted by Holiday Image Inc. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)

• First Place – In-Store Seasonal Promotions: Mother’s Day, designed and submitted by David Jones (Sydney)

•Award of Merit – In-Store Seasonal Promotions: Christmas 2005, designed and submitted by David Jones (Sydney)

• Award of Merit – In-Store Seasonal Promotions: Valentine’s Day 2005, Target, designed and submitted by Knock Inc. (Minneapolis)

• First Place – Non-Holiday Window Displays: Accessories/Beauty/Shoes: Seashells,

Shreve, Crump & Low (Boston), designed and submitted by Sightgeist Design (Boston)

• Award of Merit – Non-Holiday Window Displays: Accessories/Beauty/Shoes: Shoes,

Shreve, Crump & Low (Boston), designed and submitted by Sightgeist Design (Boston)

• First Place – Non-Holiday Window Displays: Apparel: Urban Oasis, by The Bay (Toronto)

• Award of Merit – Non-Holiday Window Displays: Apparel: Summer 2005 Fashion windows, designed and submitted by David Jones (Sydney)

• First Place – Non-Holiday Window Displays: Special Event: Culinary Tablescapes, designed and submitted by Marshall Field’s (Minneapolis)

• Award of Merit – Non-Holiday Window Displays: Special Event: Rebrand, designed and submitted by Holt Renfrew (Toronto)

• First Place – Holiday Window Displays: It’s Christmas Time in the City, designed and submitted by Macy’s (New York)

• Award of Merit – Holiday Window Displays: Animated Christmas windows, designed and submitted by David Jones (Sydney)

• Award of Merit – Holiday Window Displays: Cinderella Animated, designed and submitted by Marshall Field’s (Minneapolis)

• First Place – Visual Technology in a Visual Display: Nokia Flagship, Moscow, designed and submitted by Eight Inc. ( New York, San Francisco, Honolulu)
