Walmart Canada Appoints New Ceo

Walmart Canada Corp. (Mississauga, Ontario) is promoting COO Lee Tappenden to the position of president and ceo.

Effective August 15, Tappenden will replace Dirk Van den Berghe, who will transition to Walmart’s Asia region as part of a global executive shuffle earlier this month, reports Retailing Today.

Tappenden, who has been with Walmart since 1996 and worked in a variety of global leadership roles, will report to President and CEO David Cheesewright of  Walmart Intl.
