Walmart Testing New Experiential Concept: Photos

Walmart is testing a new experiential concept at a store near its Bentonville, AR headquarters.

The retailer is calling it “Time Well Spent,” which focuses on making Walmart a destination where customers want to spend their time, the retailer said in an announcement on its website.

Key elements of the design include activated corners, enhanced shop-in-shops, more space for customers to explore and a stronger emphasis on digital touchpoints such as QR codes and screen-enabled displays. The store is also testing new brands including Bonobos, Gap Home, Queer Eye and the Justice kids’ brand, News Nation Now writes.

“We’re looking at how to bring customers the information they need about different products. For example, here when you lift a certain razor, it actually pulls up on the screen all the information you need (including) price ratings, reviews, some imagery and videos about how to use the product,” Allison Holman of Walmart’s marketing department told the outlet.

Walmart will test the new design at a couple of other locations and plans to implement the concept at up to 800 stores in the months ahead, the article says.
