Mannequins and Forms

It was all about flair in the store windows of Paris and London this fall. Galeries Lafayette featured a “danse avec la mode” (dance with fashion) theme, using innovative LED installations and moving mannequins. Printemps’ “rock couture” theme displayed mannequins on stage, complete with colorful spotlights, Swarovski crystals, shiny rivets and a mosaic mirror.

During London Fashion Week in September, artistic expressions took center stage. Selfridges’ film theme set shiny red mannequins in front of opulent fireplaces, antique clocks, wardrobe boxes and antique travel accessories. Harvey Nichols created a dinosaur sculpture out of wooden hangers. And Fortnum & Mason transformed paintings into 3-D pieces of fine art.
