Abercrombie Asks Jersey Shore Cast Not to Wear Its Clothing

Abercrombie & Fitch (Columbus, Ohio) announced this week that it would offer money to Jersey Shore star Michael “Situation” Sorrentino and his cast members if they stopped wearing Abercrombie-branded clothing. The following day, the retailer’s stock dropped 5 percent, reports The Chicago Tribune.

The retailer also unveiled its quarterly earnings this week, which analysts say may have led to the drop, although the company beat expectations.

The retailer reported a net sales increase of 23 percent in the quarter ended July 30 and a 64 percent surge in net profit.
