Abercrombie’s Paris Flagship Destroyed by Fire

Smoke damage will require complete renovation

The Paris flagship store of Abercrombie & Fitch was destroyed by a fire over the weekend. Women’s Wear Daily reports that the store will require a full refit before it can reopen.

WWD cited French firefighting sources saying the blaze broke out in a clothing display section on the second floor of the four-story Champs-Elysées store shortly before 7 a.m. on Sunday and destroyed 1075 square feet of retail space.

A Paris fire official said the smoke damage is extensive.

“The fire was not a problem,” said the official, Frédéric Grosjean. “The problem was that the entire store was filled with smoke. It has to be totally refitted. Everything has to be thrown out.”
