Apple to Open Singapore Store

Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.) unveiled it will be opening its first store in Southeast Asia. The base for the company’s regional expansion will be in Singapore, where Apple has confirmed the first store will be located.

Tech Crunch reports the company began hiring staff for its new location last week. Apple already employs 900 workers in its Singapore contact center.

The company also announced that all Singapore operations will be powered with solar energy. Apple will be the first company in the country to operate entirely on renewable energy.
