Best Buy Launches Wedding Registry

Best Buy Co. (Richfield, Minn.) is rolling out its first wedding registry service, catering to couples interested in the latest gadgets.

After quietly adding a registry page to its website earlier this year, the retailer will add the registry to its mobile app next week, and kiosks will be installed in the 1000-plus large-format U.S. Best Buy stores by early April, reports The New York Times.

The company hopes the new service will increase sales and make Best Buy more relevant to twenty- and thirtysomethings – and women. “Electronics and small appliances are as important to today’s newlyweds as silverware and towels,” said Wendy Fritz, Best Buy’s head of gift strategy.
