Camp Expands to Garden State Plaza in Paramus

Experiential retailer Camp (New York) continues expansion with the opening of its seventh store, located in a prior Toys R Us location in Paramus, N.J., reports Toy World. The store, in the Westfield Garden State Plaza mall, opens tomorrow.

The 6500-square-foot space will be balanced more toward retail and less experiential compared to its flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York. The Paramus location won’t have a “magic revolving door” behind which is hidden a play space and won’t change themes seasonally, but if successful, could be converted to a full-size store in the future.

“We’re hoping that’s what happens here, that this is kind of a test towards a bigger space in that location,” Ben Kaufman, Camp co-founder and CEO, said. ““There will be experiences throughout, with play built into all of the shopping moments.”
