Chipotle to Open Drive-Thru-Only Location

Fast casual restaurant chain Chipotle (Newport Beach, Calif.) will open a digital-only location in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, without a dining room or in-person ordering, reports CNN.

Customers will order ahead through the brand’s app or web site and drive through “Chipotlane” to pick up their food. A walk-up window and patio area where customers can sit and eat their orders will also be available.

About 10 percent of Chipotle’s roughly 3000 U.S. locations have a drive-thru, which became a popular means of limited-contact transactions during the pandemic. According to the company, locations with a drive-thru enjoy “approximately 15 percent higher sales compared to non-Chipotlanes opened during the same period.”
