Dior Debuts in South Korea

Christian Dior S.A. (Paris) is opening its first freestanding House of Dior store in Seoul, South Korea the weekend of June 19. The six-store boutique is the company’s largest flagship in Asia.

Each floor is dedicated to specific product categories, such as bags and accessories or shoes. There is a Versailles-inspired VIP lounge and gallery on the fourth floor, and the fifth floor features a pastry and French café where customers can enjoy Herme’s famous macaroons, according to Women's Wear Daily.

The building was designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc and features the brand’s iconic grid-like pattern on the exterior with white, petal-like curved walls at the entrance, reports WWD.

The store’s launch is in conjunction with the company’s “Esprit Dior” exhibit that will take place elsewhere in Seoul and will showcase original Dior designs as well as collaborations with local Korean artists.
