Whole Foods Market Inc. (Austin, Texas) has completed the reopening of its 50,000-square-foot Veterans store in Metairie, La., today, in the New Orleans area.

The natural and organic food retailer said that 5 percent of the reopening day sales will be donated to The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation.

“We are pleased to be back in full swing at the Veterans store,” said store team leader Amy Archinal. “We had become an integral part of Jefferson Parish before the disruption of the storm. The community has told us they need us now more than ever, especially our prepared foods selections.”

Whole Foods reopened approximately 10,000 square feet of the store in November, and has since expanded to 30,000 square feet. Before today, the location had everything available except the behind-the-counter service.
