Farewell, Fila

Fila Holding S.p.A. (Biella, Italy) announced the resignation of Michele Scannavini as managing director and ceo, effective immediately. Mr. Scannavini is leaving the company to pursue a career in a different industry.

Marco Isaia, Fila's Group coo since January 1998, will replace Scannavini as ceo.

Once the shoe industry's leader, Fila has slipped behind Nike, adidas and Reebok. In addition to sports shoes, Fila designs and markets activewear, casual wear and sportswear worldwide. Fila has created strong brand recognition by marketing products with a high design and style content and by securing professional athletic endorsements.
