Federated Names Edwin Holman Divisional CEO

Former Bloomingdale’s president will head Atlanta-based operation

Federated Department Stores (Cincinnati) has named Edwin Holman as chairman and ceo of its Atlanta-based central division.

Holman, who was most recently ceo of sporting goods retailer Galyan’s Trading Co. (Plainfield, Ind.), had been president and coo of Federated’s New York-based Bloomingdale’s division in 2000-2003.

The central division, comprised of the former Rich’s, Lazarus and Goldsmith stores — all of which are being converted to Macy’s nameplates — had sales of more than $2 billion in 2003.
