Food Lion Overhauls 142 Stores

Food Lion (Salisbury, N.C.) has rolled out a campaign called “Easy, Fresh and Affordable” to differentiate itself in Charlotte, N.C., that includes plans to spend $215 million remodeling 142 stores throughout the area this year.

The store redesign program includes updating the stores’ layouts to be more navigable, introducing new décor and implementing registers with bigger screens. The remodels will be completed on a rolling basis between May and October, and stores will remain open while construction takes place overnight.

Last year, Food Lion overhauled stores throughout the Raleigh, N.C., market, and in 2014, it remodeled stores in the Wilmington and Greenville, N.C., area, reports The Charlotte Observer.
