ActiveLight names digital signage project coordinator; H&M to open first store in Ireland; Callison working on Shanghai mixed-use complex

Hilco Real Estate (Northbrook, Ill., commercial real estate disposition and appraisal firm) has hired Nina Kampler as executive vp, strategic retail solutions. Kampler was previously vp, retail and real estate counsel, for Polo Ralph Lauren Corp.

ActiveLight Inc. (Seattle distributor of advanced displays and dynamic signage solutions) has promoted Jennifer Fisher to the newly created post of digital signage project coordinator.

Tyco Plastics & Adhesives (Princeton, N.J., plastics and adhesives firm) has named Felix Chim managing director of the new Hong Kong-based Asian headquarters of its A&E Products Group, a supplier of plastic garment hangers.

Bennett Abrams, 72, co-founder of NatureMaker Inc. (Carlsbad, Calif., producer of steel art tree sculptures) passed away Aug. 3, 2004.


Store Openings/Contracts:


H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (Stockholm, Sweden, fashion retailer) has signed a contract to open its first store in Ireland. The store, which will open in March 2005, will be in Dundrum, near Dublin. The retailer also plans to open more stores in Ireland in 2005.

Forever 21 (Los Angeles mall-based retailer targeting teens and young women) has opened a 20,320-square-foot flagship store at the Gallery at Fulton Street in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Callison Architecture Inc. (Seattle design firm) announced that its Shanghai, China, office is providing construction administration services for the Nanjing Road East mixed-use development in Shanghai. When completed in fall 2005, the Callison-designed complex will include a seven-level retail and entertainment base and a 21-story office tower.
