Management Changes:

Leggett & Platt Store Fixtures Group (Niles , Ill.) has promoted Scott Carpenter to general manager of its Charleston, S.C., division.

DSA/Phototech Inc. (Carson, Calif., supplier of light boxes, kiosks and other graphic illumination solutions) has named Terry Bakewell national accounts director, based at its Midwest regional office.

Clarity Visual Systems Inc. (Wilsonville, Ore., provider of large-scale display solutions) has hired Jerry Howe as senior director, customer service.

Show Technology (Australian distributor for Martin Professional lighting products) has opened an office in Melbourne that is staffed by Paul Nicolaou and Steve Terzakis.


Associations:

The National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers (Hollywood, Fla.) has elected the following directors to three-year terms on its board: Wallace Fetzer, chairman and ceo, Fetzers' Inc. (West Valley City, Utah); Steve Neumeyer, coo, Wind Mill Slatwall Products (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.); and Robert Rosean, president, Alu Inc. (New York).


Store Openings/Contracts:

The Village at Orange (Orange, Calif., shopping center) is home to the following new stores and eateries: Lane Bryant, Sbarro's, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Gloria Jean's Coffee and Chocolate Moose.

Optical Shop of Aspen (Aspen, Colo., chain of eyewear boutiques) has opened its remodeled store on Lincoln Road in Miami. The 1500-square-foot space sports a Moroccan decor, featuring rosewood, red velvet and terrazzo floors.


Business Briefs:

Callison (Seattle retail design firm) has created a conceptual master plan for a three-block area for a mixed-use development in the Centum City complex in Busan, Korea. Centum City, which formerly housed an airfield, is being converted into a retail/office/entertainment complex.

ShopKo Stores Inc. (Green Bay, Wis.) has sold its two ShopKo stores in Reno, Nev., to SPI Holdings LLC and Retail West Inc. (San Francisco). The stores will close in early 2006.

Walls + Forms Inc. (Dallas manufacturer of retail display systems and components) has updated and expanded its web site, www.wallsforms.com.


Awards:

Martin Professional Inc. (Sunrise, Fla., lighting firm) has named New York City College of Technology the 2005 recipient of the Martin Intelligent Lighting Technology Grant. The grant, valued at $50,000, consists of Martin fixtures and control products.

Permlight Products Inc. (Tustin, Calif., manufacturer of LED lighting systems) announced that its Enbryten LED Recessed Can Lights and Pendant LED Luminaires have been named to the list of the Top-10 green building products of 2005 by GreenSpec and Environmental Building News.
