RGLA Names Senior Associates; Impact of In-Mall Ads Being Tracked at Colorado Shopping Complex; Nanonation, Moss and Gensler Win Awards

Management Changes:

Robert G. Lyon + Associates Inc. (RGLA, Chicago retail design firm) announces the addition of the following senior associates: Robert Bowman, director, architectural services; Dave Heidtke, senior project architect; and Robert Lengfelder, senior project manager.

Martin Professional Inc. (Sunrise, Fla., producer of computer-controlled lighting) has promoted Brian Friborg to president. Friborg was managing director of Martin Professional Scandinavia A/S.

Forest Corp. (Twinsburg, Ohio, supplier of p-o-p systems) has hired John Tkac as its vp, sales, Mike Cargile as marketing manager of its pinpointpop.com system and John Bodis as pinpointpop.com general manager.

MBH Architects (Alameda, Calif.) has hired the following: Jeff Segal, project architect, special projects studio; Mark Kao, senior drafter, specialty retail studio; and Angelica Nunez and Ariana Chan, drafters, restaurant studio. At the firm's Newport Beach, Calif., office, Wayne Lynn has been hired as a designer.

Business Briefs:

Intermall Media Partners (Superior, Colo., developer of advertising networks for malls and other retail venues) has teamed with Shoppertrak RCT (Chicago provider of traffic-based information for retailers and other businesses) to install digital cameras to measure the impact of plasma screens bearing in-mall advertising at the Flatiron Crossing Mall in Broomfield, Colo.

ActiveLight Inc. (Seattle distributor of advanced displays, dynamic signage solutions and projection equipment) has opened a new distribution facility in Pittsburgh.

3M (St. Paul, Minn., diversified graphics and adhesives manufacturer) is creating the Graphics Market Center, combining many of the products, capabilities and resources of its commercial graphics and industrial adhesives and tapes divisions. The center will be fully functional by Jan. 1, 2006, and Jon Lindekugel will serve as its business director.

Awards:

Nanonation (Lincoln, Neb., provider of customer experience software solutions) was recognized at the recent sixth annual Kiosk Awards in San Francisco. Nanonation took the top awards for Best Digital Display Application for Douglas Theatre Co. and Best Entertainment and Gaming Kiosk for KC Hopps. The company also received second place for Best Demonstration of ROI for Mazda's interactive dealership kiosks.

Moss Inc. (Belfast, Maine) won an outstanding achievement award from the Industrial Fabrics Association Intl. in the trade show/exhibit booth category for its GlobalShop Booth 2005 project.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC, Washington, D.C.) has awarded Gensler Architecture, Design & Planning Worldwide (San Francisco) a Leadership Award in the category of organizational excellence. Gensler was recognized for exploring avenues of innovation that demonstrate how a green approach can add value to clients' businesses.
