“Frozen” Boosts Disney Retail

Walt Disney Co.’s (Burbank, Calif.) consumer products division experienced a 22 percent increase in sales for the fiscal year that ended in September. Fueled largely by merchandise from the successful “Frozen” film franchise, the company reported a record $1.36 billion in sales for the period, according to Bloomberg News.

Disney licenses merchandise in 137 categories to makers of roughly 1.6 million products, The company also operates 328 Disney stores worldwide.
