New vp of store ops at Dollar General

Dollar General Corp. (Goodlettsville, Tenn.) has announced the appointment of industry veteran Gregg Treadway as vp of store operations. Prior to joining Dollar General, Treadway served as vp of supercenter development and operations at AutoZone (Memphis). He has also been vp of distribution at Toysrus.com; vp of store design and merchandise planning at Toys R Us (Paramus, N.J.); and director of operations for Baby Superstore, Inc. the Alexandria, Va.-based children's store comet that blazed and then fell in the mid 1990s. At the beginning of his career, Treadway served more than 17 years in a variety of position at Wal-Mart Stores (Bentonville, Ark.). Dollar General operates more than 4900 stores in 25 states.
