Retailer being investigated over its private equity deal

Hot Topic (Industry, Calif.) is now under investigation by a national shareholder litigation firm, Ryan and Maniskas LLP (Wayne, Pa.), for alleged violations regarding its $600 million sale to the private equity firm, Sycamore Partners (New York).

Ryan and Maniskas are currently investigating the apparel company due to possible violations of law “related to the approval of the transaction” by Hot Topic’s board of directors.
