Hugo Boss Closing 20 Locations

Hugo Boss (Metzingen, Germany) announced it will close 20 stores in the next 18 months in Asia, Europe and North America.

To further cut costs, the retailer will also renegotiate rents and focus its marketing back on core menswear business, reports Reuters. Under the previous ceo, the German fashion house opened 400 international locations and ramped up womenswear business.

New ceo Mark Langer also announced that Hugo Boss will no longer sell its brand at U.S. discount stores in order to focus more on high-quality items for department stores.
