ID TECH's New Chip and PIN Products Featured at Cartes Paris 2014

ID TECH, a leading manufacturer of secure payment solutions, mobile payment readers, point of sale peripherals, and digital signage, is scheduled to release two products in 2015 that when integrated together produce an ideal Chip and PIN solution: the Spectrum Pro and SmartPIN L100. 

The Spectrum Pro is an EMV smart card and MagStripe hybrid insert reader that is optimal for outdoor, unattended POS operations. Meeting the latest requirements of the payment industry, the Spectrum Pro is PCI 4.x certified, EMV Level 1 and Level 2 approved to secure EMV smart card transactions, and features DUKPT key management with TDES and AES encryption algorithms to ensure MagStripe card data is protected. It also uses the mutual RSA authentication with the host and PIN pad during the first time initialization to enhance the secure communication. The Spectrum Pro is a combination of ID TECH’s Spectrum Air, a ruggedized insert reader made to withstand harsh environments, and the Spectrum III Hybrid, an EMV smart card and MagStripe insert reader.

The SmartPIN L100 is a PCI 4.x certified modular PIN entry device with an LCD display. Implementing the highest degree of PIN security, the SmartPIN L100 uses TDES algorithms with Master/Session and DUKPT key management. It is also equipped with removal detection switches and is tamper resistant for additional physical security. Similar to ID TECH’s SmartPIN B100 and SmartPIN K100, the SmartPIN L100 is IP65 rated with a robust, waterproof steel cover and keys to withstand outdoor environments. 

When integrated together the Spectrum Pro and SmartPIN L100 combine into an EMV Level 2 certified chip and PIN solution. For an all-in-one payment solution, the ViVOpay Kiosk III antenna can also be added to the chip and PIN solution to accept contactless payments. All three products can be seen at Cartes Secure Connexions in Paris at booth #4J087 November 4^th-6^th.
