JC Penney (Plano, Texas) has announced the late August opening of its first Brooklyn, N.Y. store. It will be located in phase two of the Gateway Center, according to MarketWatch. Complementing its other New York locations in the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan, the 124,000-square-foot store will feature a full-service 2200-square-foot Sephora.

The Brooklyn department store will showcase the company’s move toward sustainability, with the location using 45 percent less energy than a typical JCPenney.
