Kmart to Begin In-Store Ad Campaign

Kmart Corp. (Troy, Mich.), the wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.), has announced an agreement with NextMedia Alternative, a division of NextMedia Outdoor Inc. (Minneapolis), to install and operate in-store advertising displays in all Kmart stores throughout the United States.

NextMedia will install, manage and sell advertising in all Kmart stores on its advertising posting, including restrooms, dressing rooms and baby billboards. NextMedia will also manage integrated marketing programs, utilizing a combination of Kmart's existing advertising opportunities.

“NextMedia Alternative is a leader in providing marketers with a wide variety of in-store advertising displays that reach consumers where purchasing decisions are made,” said Jim Matalone, president and ceo of NextMedia Outdoor. “We are very excited about this opportunity to work with Kmart and to help marketers reach the mass merchant's 60 million-plus value-conscious consumers that visit the store each month.”

NextMedia Outdoor is a subsidiary of NextMedia Operating Inc. (Denver), a diversified out-of-home media company that, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, owns and operates 58 radio stations in 14 markets throughout the United States and more than 5200 bulletin and poster displays. Additionally, NextMedia owns advertising displays in more than 2100 retail locations.
