Krispy Kreme Heads to Thailand

Signs franchise development rights for 20 locations by 2014

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has entered into a licensing agreement with KDN Co. Ltd. to open 20 Krispy Kreme franchise locations in Thailand over the next five years.

“We’re excited to introduce to the Thai people a premium doughnut and the one-of-a-kind experience that is associated with the Krispy Kreme brand,” said Ausanee Mahagitsiri, KDN Co. ceo. “Krispy Kreme is very popular in Japan, South Korea and the Philippines and we expect Krispy Kreme to be well received in Thailand.”

Krispy Kreme operates in 18 countries, including the U.S., Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the U.K.
