Kroger Taps Two New Presidents

Former executive heads to Target

Kroger Co. (Cincinnati) has named Joe Grieshaber president of Fred Meyer Stores (Portland, Ore.), replacing Jeff Burt who is moving to Target (Minneapolis) as senior vp, grocery, fresh food and beverage.

"Joe is known throughout the retail industry as an exceptional leader who always brings out the best in his people and teams," said Fred Morganthall, Kroger's executive vp of retail operations, in a press release. "His depth of experience will help the Fred Meyer team build on their successes and continue to innovate and deliver a unique shopping experience for our customers."

Dan De La Rosa will replace Grieshaber as president of Kroger's Columbus division.
