The Limited (Columbus, Ohio) has announced plans for a multi-month campaign celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The promotion will begin with a special campaign to support Dress for Success, a nonprofit organization that offers professional apparel, a network of support and career development tools to women who are entering or re-entering the work force. The retailer will donate $1 for every woman who submits an email about her success stories, life lessons and great moments in her life, personal or professional. Submissions are being accepted at thelimited.com/50(th) .

The Limited will also donate 30 percent of its proceeds from a limited edition clutch purse and a commemorative bracelet that will debut in the fall.

A digital and social media campaign will ask clients to select a dress design that will be featured in its stores. The company's associates will cap off the celebration in October with a simultaneous commemorative event across all 259 stores nationwide.

Started in 1963 by Les Wexner, the 259-unit retailer is now owned by private equity firm Sun Capital (Boca Raton, Fla.).
