Madewell to Debut at Nordstrom

Madewell (New York), a division of J. Crew Group, has signed a deal with Nordstrom (Seattle) to begin selling on Nordstrom.com on March 2 and in 15 Nordstrom stores on March 6, according Women’s Wear Daily.

Currently, Madewell is distributed through 85 Madewell stores and Madewell.com.

Madewell has a young, hip, casual tomboy appeal, with denim, accessories and T-shirts at its core, reports WWD. Bringing Madewell into Nordstrom reflects the Seattle-based retailer’s efforts to broaden its base of customers and cast a trendier image.

Madewell has also inked a distribution deal with luxury online retailer Net-A-Porter, according to sources.
