Moda Operandi Hires Former Etsy CFO

Luxury platform Moda Operandi (New York) has just hired Kristina Salen as its CFO, replacing Hoddi Hafsteinsson, who has worked with the company since 2013.

Salen was previously CFO of Etsy (Brooklyn, N.Y.), where she lead its IPO and helped scale the business from $895 million in gross sales to $3 billion, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Most recently she was CFO and COO of UnitedMasters, a company that helps musicians distribute their music. Salen also formerly held positions with Fidelity, Oppenheimer Capital, Merrill Lynch and Lazard Freres. She sits on the boards of directors for SiriusXM and Cornerstone OnDemand.

Modi Operandi was founded in 2010 by Lauren Santo Domingo and it sells more than 1000 brands, shipping to 125 countries. The company has raised almost $300 million in funding from investors.
